Indian markets supported. International markets coming soon.

Good questions.

Do I need to switch from Claude or ChatGPT?

No. Keep using the AI you know. Connect /markets to Claude or ChatGPT to bring real market data into your conversations.

Which markets and brokers are supported?

Indian markets: NSE and BSE stocks and indices, index and stock futures and options, MCX commodities and currency derivatives. /markets connects to Zerodha through Kite Connect for your portfolio and market data. Other brokers and international markets are coming later.

Can it see my portfolio?

Yes, once you log in to Zerodha from your account page. Your AI can then read positions, holdings, funds, orders and trades, and combine them with live market data. Zerodha ends every session during its overnight reset, so you log in again each trading morning.

Will it keep watching after I close my chat?

Yes. Tell your AI what to watch and when to alert you. /markets checks the condition on a schedule during market hours and emails you when it becomes true, even after you log off. You pause, resume or cancel watches from your account page.

Can it place trades for me?

No. /markets is read-only by design. It cannot place, modify or cancel orders through your broker, and the connection has no permission to do so. You decide which trades to take and place them in Kite.

Is my broker login safe?

Your Zerodha login happens on Zerodha's own page; /markets never sees your password. The resulting session is stored encrypted and is used only on our servers. Nothing about your login is ever sent to Claude or ChatGPT.

Can I build my own trading tools with it?

Yes. Build with Claude or ChatGPT as usual, then use /markets for the market data and calculations. Think crude trackers, Elliott Wave tools or a screener built around your strategy.

How we estimated the AI cost saving.

This is an illustrative model, not a measured /markets benchmark. The example compares a workflow that passes raw market data into an AI model with one that processes the data in /markets and returns calculated results.

Assumptions for one hypothetical analysis
Model usageRaw-data workflowCalculated-results workflow
Input tokens100,0005,000
Output tokens2,0002,000
Input cost$0.20$0.01
Output cost$0.02$0.02
Total model API cost$0.22$0.03

The assumed rates are $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, matching the published standard Sonnet 5.5 rates used for this example. Pricing source.

Where 86% comes from

($0.22 − $0.03) ÷ $0.22 = 86.36%, rounded to 86%. Input-token usage falls by 95% under these assumptions; that is a different figure from the total model-cost reduction.

What the example leaves out

The figures exclude /markets subscription, market-data and sandbox-compute fees. They also omit other conversation context, extra generated code, retries, caching discounts and other tool charges. Actual usage depends on the task, model and implementation.

The comparison is against sending a large raw dataset through the model. A small query, or an alternative tool that already returns calculated results, may show much smaller savings. Creating and refreshing an app can involve additional model calls.

This estimate does not mean a fixed-price ChatGPT or Claude subscription becomes 86% cheaper, and it does not establish an 86% saving in the total cost of running a trading app.

October 2026 · Eight trader questions · One run per setup

We asked Claude eight questions from a trader, once with /markets and once with a basic broker connection. Same AI. Same account.

Claude with /markets: 7 out of 8 correct answers (87.5%).
Claude with a basic broker connection: 4 out of 8 correct answers (50%).

Seven of eight is 87.5%. This small test is not an overall accuracy rate.

Questions included candle-close checks and crude open-interest buildup. The basic connection returned only the last five candles, limiting what Claude could answer.
